Scheherazade

The LSO is excited to begin the season by presenting pianist, Chu-Fang Huang, a Young Concert Artist who was First Prize winner of the Piano Competition and a finalist in the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Texas in 2005.

"Compose Yourself" is an interactive and educational experience you don't want to miss! Learn about each instrument and the part it plays in the orchestra. Be a part of the creation and unveiling of a brand-new composition written by YOU!

Come early and see if you can play the orchestra instruments during our Instrument Petting Zoo!

This performance of “Compose Yourself” is written by Jim Stephenson, formerly of the Naples Philharmonic, for 15 musicians (one on each instrument) and a narrator. 
The show breaks into 3 sections:
Intro/Overture/Sections of the Orchestra
Meet the Instruments
Kids compose and perform “World Premiere”

Jim says, “I tried to keep the show fast-paced, i.e. if the music is slow, it is immediately interrupted near its end by a sound-effect, or fast music.

EVERYTHING IS FREE! NO TICKETS NECESSARY!
